The project to make DIY Alklanet. Why ? Alklanet is awesome cleaning agent, but is kinda expensive. Can we make something ourselves? Alklanet is a commercial product, with a secret composition. Howewer de MSDS reveals the most common chemicals.

Composition option 1

Naive mix of tensides and 2-2-Butoxyethanol. Dishwashing liquid vs hard soap. Foam formation is the questio.

• 10% 2-Butoxyethanol
• 5% Anionic Tensides
• 85% water

Recipe V0.1

Al %weight, For 200 ml. These will give only apporximate concentrations.

• 20 g Eco-Aceton from "De Parel" from hornbach
• 10 g dishwashing liquid
• 150 g water

Recipe V0.2

• 20 g Eco-Aceton from "De Parel" from hornbach
• 10 g hard white soap
• 150 g water

Composition option 2

Tensides 2-2-Butoxyethanol and some ethanol, as Alklanet MSDS also identifies it as a component. The use of Dishwashing liquid or hard soap, based on experiences from V0.1 and V0.2.

• 10% 2-Butoxyethanol
• 5% Anionische Tensides (hard soap or dishwashing liquid)
• 3% ethanol
• 82% water

Recipe V0.3

Al %weight, For 200 ml. These will give only apporximate concentrations.

• 20 g Eco-Aceton from "De Parel" from hornbach
• 10 g dishwashing liquid / hard soap
• 6 g ethanol ( Available from drugstores as 95% ethanol for cleaning)
• 150 g water

Test results

• Make some and test it !
