Setting up equipment and tools to etch PCB's in-house. As a first experiment we will etch a PCB for the ProjectSpaceAccessControl 1-wire to serial converter setup.

UV exposure

We have salvaged two UV exposure units for double-sided PCB's, combined the two in one. The timer is still a bit flaky, but the vacuum is working. Might need a new top plastic though, as it is a bit dirty.

Developing

For smaller pcb's use one of the small blue containers. We have developing fluid.

Etching

We have a batch of old !Fe3Cl that we can use, but in the long run we will have to revert to less illegal chemicals. There is an etching aquarium with air pump.

Direct transfer

We might also want to experiment with the direct-transfer method, where you print a mirror-image of the design and apply that directly to the copper with an iron, then etch.
