Parallel Realities games hackfest Tue Aug 17th

Parallel Realities: http://www.parallelrealities.co.uk/projects
Is a small group of programmers who make a number of nice,
FOSS games. Unfortunately they did not take FOSS licensing into
account when picking artwork for their games.

Which means that distributions who care about Freedom (Debian,
Fedora) cannot include these games.

Guus Sliepen (Debian) has started a sf.net project where a
modified versions of the Parallel Realities games are hosted,
with all non Free resources removed:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/blobwars/
http://sourceforge.net/projects/blobandconquer/

And here is a wiki with some more info and lists of the non
free resources which have been removed and the status in
replacing them:
http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/blobwars
http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/blobandconquer

The plan for Tue Aug 17th is to get together with interested
people in the hackerspace revspace in The Hague (and hopefully
most of the local hackers will join us) and finding Free
replacement resources for as many non free resources
as possible. Guus Sliepen (Debian) and Hans de Goede (Fedora)
will be hacking on this themselves and try to coordinate things.

I'm happy to report that although only 3 people participated the
hackfast was a success, here is a writeup about it from Guus:
