You can get a lot of information from the OBD2 (OBD-II) port of your vehicle. Often times, modern cars give you a subscription service to remotely read out information like fuel status. But since I don't like subscriptions and hacking one together is a lot more fun, I will be going the DIY route on this! For the first revision, I only plan to read data from the OBD2 port. I might update it later with things like GPS tracking.

I'll be using a Wio-E5 CAN FD dev kit as starting point for this and the OBD2 plug from an old OBD device I had. This will be specific for my Hyundai Ioniq 2019 Plug-In Hybrid and I found the following page with the PID's for my car, if you want to replicate it you will probably need to find the PID's specific to your car.
