Introduction
We bought a water buffalo horn and made it into a ornament which makes a very loud noise.
Resources
We bought a water buffalo horn from Nature Deco.
After a while of carrying it around and it being big and heavy and pointy, we decided to make it into something that makes noise.
Process
If you shine a bright flashlight into the horn in a dark room it lights up and you can get a sense of how far down the horn it is hollow.

We used a hand crosscut saw to cut off the tip of the horn. It was still solid where we cut it.
So we cut it again a bit further down, and ended up with a hole. The remaining rim was too thick to easily make a buzzing noise against.

Luckily I have been making mouthpieces for my French Horn and had some spare early test runs.
We jammed one into place and it makes a very loud noise.
We used hot glue to fix the mouthpiece in place and we now have something which functions as a Vuvuzela.
Reviews
Paraphrase of discussion which occurred in our next-door neighbour's house:
- Q
- Why does [the young neighbour] play that horn at eight o'clock in the morning?
- A
- Because they've been told they're not allowed to make that noise before eight o'clock.
