The national video game museum in Zoetermeer has an 48 Sinclair spectrum with a built in casduino to quickly load a game, but recently it became unreliable, it seems the 4116 RAM chips had became unreliable and even a small mechanical bump on the table could lead to a system crash. So we decided to remove the RAM chips, and replace them with dual wipe sockets, and install new 4116 chips. I did the work and the result can be seen in the picture above. after inserting eight new 4116 the Spectrum worked flawless again.

the casduino also worked as before, when operated by a competent operator, but it seemed the left (white) button had become difficult to use so a new (RED) button was made to replace it, and also the barrel-jack was re-soldered.
