[[Project Omschrijving::2026-09-22 I've started working on building a show laser! This works by steering a laser beam really quickly using two perpendicular galvanometers that got mirrors attached. Many thanks to __pbx___ for giving me some galvanometers! Sorry to __pbx___ for immediately breaking one of them by opening it up (or maybe finding it broken upon opening up), even though I said I wouldn't have to open them up to find out what's going on... I've got a solution + I'm determined to repair the bow-tie-beam-attenuator that is part of the optical position sensor. After an unsuccessful attempt at super gluing the part I'm planning to follow what this person did when they were building their own galvo: https://janweigelt.com/galvos#sensor Jan uses a PCB stencil that he glues to the galvo shaft. Using extremely high tech high definition scans (thank you Peetz0r) of the broken bow-tie I will trace the shape, match the dimensions with never-seen-before accuracy and order the part with slight tolerance variations from a PCB manufacturer.]]
