New page

I (Anykey) just finished building my makerbot (3d printer), so if you ever wanted to print out any of your own 3D designs in real plastic, I am happy to organise a 3D printing workshop. So get creative in blender, google sketchup or whatever :-)

I (Walter) just ordered a Makerbot CupCake CNC and intend to assemble/build it at RevSpace. Anyone interested in that is welcome. I also intend to document it on video.

Update: the Cupcake CNC hasn't been much of a success so far. I am not abandoning it completely, when the Mk6 steptruder and the Gen4 electronics become available, I'll order them and give it another go. In the meantime I intend to get a Mendel. This plan initially was about a lasercut Mendel but since Cabfablab has reneged on its initial generous allowance of free time on their Epilog, I've found a provider for extruded parts for a Mendel.

Another important step is finding a supplier for M3 and M4 cylindrical bus nuts "inbusbouten met cylindrische kop" in lengths varying from 15mm to 60mm.

Basically, the fastener shopping list looks like this:

|*diameter*|*English term*|*length*|*quantity required*|*Dutch term*|*Supplier*|* quantity to be ordered*|
|M4|cap screw| 40mm|120|binnenzeskant cilinderkopschroef|Fabory|200|

NEMA-17 stepper motors are also required.
